The Stallions concluded the
latest installment of our indoor workout schedule on Saturday Feb. 22nd,
with another nice turnout. The defense got some welcome additions in
former Beechwood HS star Griffin Howard and ex-Xtreme and Norwood
standout Adam Long. Both men will be competing at LB in Coach Mark
Scott's system, and seemed to take to their new positions quite well. WR
Charles Johnson (ex Lloyd Memorial High School and Eastern Kentucky
Colonel) had another strong outing and looks to play an integral part of
the Stallions offense. "It still looks pretty ugly at times, but for the
most part, the philosophy behind what we are trying to accomplish is being
absorbed by the players at break neck speed." QB Jeremy Addington
continues to prove why he was ranked so high in the tri-state during his
HS career. "He just doesn't make that many bad decisions." said Coach Mike
Metzger.
With the weather growing warming, many of the Stallions are itching to get outside and start hitting, including Defensive Coordinator Mark Scott. "I can't wait to open it up a bit, I have some true animals on defense and its gonna be fun seeing who comes out on top." The Stallions are tentatively scheduled to begin outdoor workouts in April, but as Owner Homer Reeves pointed out, "we're basically at the mercy of the weather, The main thing is that we practice on a grass field, and we don't want to risk an injury that could otherwise be prevented."
