Cincinnati - The Kentucky Stallions will face off against the Mid-Ohio Jets this week for the Heartland American Division Championship.

It wasn’t an easy road though, this past week the Stallions faced the Miami Valley Blackouts for the third time this season beating them 30-18. The Blackouts had won the previous two meeting 20-14 and 13-12 but the second game was ruled a no contest due to a rules violation by the Blackouts.

It looked as if the Blackouts would complete the sweep as they were up at halftime 12-9 and keeping the Stallions offence at bay the entire first half with two of the nine points coming from the defense with a safety.

The second half on the other hand was all Stallions football. QB Kyle Hogan connected with WR Charles Johnson on two long TD strikes and LB Robby Scott returned one of the two defensive touchdowns to clinch the victory.

Mike Metzger’s Stallions will face off against the 10-0 Mid-Ohio Jets in Columbus Saturday, the previous two meetings the Jets won 41-26 and 35-10 but the scores don’t show how tough those games really were. The Stallions have scored more points against the Jets than any other team has in the regular season and look to take another step by coming home from Columbus as American Division Champs.

Win or lose, there is no question the Kentucky Stallions are building a team the right way and have gotten off to a great start, they should be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
